Just a few more of these

I guess I enjoy drawing characters on-model. The idea is after enough of these, I'll draw some of my UnOty characters in a similar way.

Here's some useless things I've learned from these. You ever get the feeling you liked a sketch better then the finished result? What I've been doing with these, is dropping the sketch as low as possible (with opacity), and drawing solid colors over the top. Don't worry about details yet, just break things up into the core colors of the major shapes.

The idea of dropping your sketch really low, is so that while it's still there to guide you, it doesn't distract from you seeing the shapes you're actually drawing. Then you can focus on making those shapes as good as they can be, before bringing the sketch back on top for details.

In this way, I actually prefer my finished to the sketches, you just gotta let em' go so they're only guides.

Hope that useless information was helpful ;)

Man! These birds are evil!

I don't know why the colors came out so evil and musty, I guess it gives sort of a dirty dawn feeling. Any input you guys have would be handy, I'm gonna be color balancing this thing and duplicating layers and high contrasting and popping in and out and basically tweaking this thing without any more actual pen-pushing. Maybe drop a tattered poster texture on there. Probably not though.

Now the lettering is like, the Devil's neon

More Old Ladies, and Type in Perspective

Maybe I should just draw this type head on with elongated letters maybe. Thoughts? Also I should reference real woodwork and borders before drawing mine. But that's silly.

Maybe I'll get a postcard done, in time to be almost biannual

WIP

Hey, check it. It's got a pile of stuff, It's got slick old ladies, it's got a radomobile, you know you're gonna love it. Tried simplifying the car but, I like this made up car better. All the stuff was kinda made up, me listening to music, thinking of yardsale items and then drawing em from my head.

Oh yeah, the Background is gonna be tiled yardsale signs - the black and orange ones, the red and white ones, the white paper, cardboard, neon pink and green

Besides that, I'm in the process of making a sweet dvd with all the old movies I made for highschool (at the thinking stage right now), as well as mapping out my records for a collection overview on youtube.
