Menus

Redid some menu boards for the Muddy Paw cafe in Waterbury, VT. These still have some errors. Enjoy!

Also got a copy of Van Der Graff's H to He album, at an 1800's schoolhouse in West Berkshire for 5 bucks. Who woulda thunk.

Gonna start a internet show! Basically, it's called take this track and shove it (on your mixtape). I give a brief history on a more obscure record, then briefly touch upon each track, highlighting good points, boring points, etc. Finally at the end I say which tracks I think you should grab from these hard-to-find albums, and finally end it with a full run of the track. If that's not illegal. I'll at least do it online so if they get me there then they'll just remove it. THEY'RE AFTER THE LITTLE GUYS

Not Summer Anymore

Greetings campers! So I haven't posted much, but I haven't done much either. Made some new music, but only about 3 tunes. Did a couple illustration jobs and sold 4 or so prints. Spent more then I made from that on yardsale stuff! (I'll try to do a listing but it will be very toouugh XD I can tell you now, I got an album by the wailers (early 60's garage rock, non bob's troupe) for 10 cents! And zappa's freakout for 50)

So, look for my Illustration on this week's Seven Days cover! With the snowglobe and stuff. It was great fun (to actually draw again!), and I hope more follows. Because constantly flipping records while I work is much more fun then cheetos and constant internet tv. Though, if there's nobody whipping me it's always the cheetos and the TV. It's the natural order of things.

I have more hair now and I'll take a new picture later. I have to clean this room again. I cleaned it two days ago, and now it's unfit. It's like a bed, but I never make my bed. Unless I clean my room. I guess that makes sense.

OK HERE WE GO. ALL THE AWESOME STUFF I'VE GOTTEN SINCE JUNE. ARE YOU READY?

Ohm Model I speakers - 0$
These babies were at a recycle center for free-o dollas. They originally retailed for 1500 in 1979! Check it http://www.ohmspeakers.com/store_item_detail.cfm?item_ID=20&cart_ID=102323559001

Hammond Organ - 0$
The foot pedals aren't very loud, and the top section isn't very loud, and the rhythms don't work, and the built in cassette recorder doesn't work. And a few days later I saw another better hammond for free online. But organs are pretty big, and you can't really stack one on top of another.

Yamaha Studio Monitors - $0
These apparently retail new for $200. Haven't tried them yet. Or the big ones. I'M NOT A HOARDER

A Technics tape deck - $0 that doesn't work great and
A Technics receiver/amp - $5 that also doesn't work great and
An Older Technics Tape Deck - $3 that has the wiggly needles and is Awesome and works awesome. And is sitting on a shelf.

A Realistic turntable/cassette/8 track - 0$
And all 3 parts work! You never see that!

A Channel Master reel-to-reel player/recorder,
An Atari with 6 games, and
A Texas Instruments TI-99 - $0
The computer works! Coding is hard. Have yet to try the atari, or to have a reel-to-reel to play.

Did I already mention the motorola 8-track player? - $3
This thing has red cloth covers for the speakers - it's portable, and looks like something out of star trek. ALSO

Box of 8-track tapes - $4
Including the best of beatles early and later, a humble pie 8-track, steppenwolf, deep purple - DUH NUH NUH NUH

Oh, a cane with a hidden flask! - $1
4 plaid wool sportcoats - $0
A Casio CZ-1000 - $90
That was less of a good deal. But I'll balance it out!

There's some other stuff, $10 bose speakers, 3 pairs of headphones (one panasonic, one pioneer, and one koss), some lighting fixtures, a giant casio digital piano with stand for $10, a small range for 50c... but now it's record time. This is gonna be tough.

All these records for a dollar apiece:

Brass Construction ST
Slave (a funk group) ST
Con-funk-shun ST
Miles Davis Tutu
The Jeff Lorber Fusion ST
Ohio Players - Angel
Ambrosia ST
Rolling Stones - Flowers Virgin Vinyl
Stylistics - Heavy
Savoy Brown - Raw Sienna
Savoy Brown - Getting to the Point
Eddie Harris - Excursions
The Rock Machine plays the best of Deep Purple
Vanilla Fudge - The Beat Goes On
Ramsey Lewis - Back to the Roots
Weather Report - Tale Spinnin
Muddy Waters - I'm Ready
Three Dog Night - Hard Labor
10cc - Look Hear?
10cc Best of
All the Faces of Buddy Miles
The Jimmy Castor Bunch - Dimension III
And another Jimmy Castor
lil' ol groovemaker... BASIE!
malo - ascension

wait this is ridiculous I'll never get to the end of this. I still have 50 cent and 10 cent records to get to. The listed ones I just got yesterday, and that's not even all of them. I got 27 yesterday, a stack of 14 from one sale, from the 10c sale I got 30, then went back when they were 5 cents and got 50 more... I've traded some in and got $60 in store credit from a shop, then got 12 more... did that a few times... This is nuts I have too much music don't steal it all.

I really don't want to figure out how much all of this cost me anyways XP

Peace!

Damnit it's summer this isn't the time to be sleeping like 4 hours a night

My terrible time management and a surprising number of projects piling up from the animal hospital have kept me a little jittery and irritable, as I've had to pull some crazy sleep things.

Cleaning, too, has been a real one. It's like chipping away at a rock, until it finally cracks into two smaller rocks - then you set one aside, and start away at the... you probably know this, you probably clean things too.

But, the setup is coming along nicely. Big box tv makes a nice stand for smaller, less box tv... crazy too-small-to-hang-over-a-door kinda lamp makes my whiteboard of things to do look real official, and I've somehow got 5 keyboards and 5 amps running at the same time. But it's ok because the electricity is invisible here.

Also went to a BNI meeting, which is like each person represents one kind of business and they all tell people about each other's businesses and write on little pieces of paper to keep track of it. I've got a few possible jobs coming from that.

Anyways, here's what you're really here for - my junk update of the week. It's pretty much records this time around. Brought in 3 Zappas and some other things for like $10 store credit. Probably not worth it, but it's my way of supporting those businesses that provide amiable haven to my innate desire.

The Kinks - Arthur - $3
The Butterfield Blues Band - Live - $3 (bitchin!)
The Official Live Gentle Giant - Playing the Fool - $4 (bitchin!)
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells - $1 (with a nasty stain!)
Blue Oyster Cult - Live - $2 (but free cause' the lady wrung me up wrong)
Procol Harum - Exotic Birds and Fruits - $1 (also free for the same reason)

Zappa - Sleep Dirt - $12 (but $10 was store credit. passed up Live at the Fillmore 71, same price)
The Electric Flag - $5
The JSD Band - Free (cause he knew he was rippin me I guess)

MC5 - Kick out the Jams - $4 (super bitchin!)
3 Quicksilver Messenger Service Albums - $3
ELO - Time - $3

Then some POCO and REO and other stuff. Don't make me add them up and realize how bad I waste money. Cause $3 isn't very much! Twelve times! 12 is a small number too!

Oh well. Back to the woods.
